Detroit, Michigan-born artist Greg Hildebrandt is better known for his science-fiction and fantasy illustrations than anything else. Nonetheless, there’s a sexy, pin-up style to many of his paintings that would fit splendidly with crime fiction.
Tina Hall’s blog, The Damned Interviews, features a wide-ranging new conversation with the 73-year-old Hildebrandt in which he talks about his late twin brother (and fellow artist), his meeting with Marlon Brando at Michael Jackson’s “ranch,” his involvement in the comics industry, and his interest in directing a feature film.
That interview is interspersed with Hildebrandt’s seductive artistry. But you can find more at the American Gallery Web site.
