Part of a 100th-birthday tribute to artist Robert Stanley.
Murder with Pictures, by George Harmon Coxe (Dell, 1950). This tale marked the debut of Kent Murdock, a married and rather refined Boston news photographer (quite unlike Coxe’s previous shooter-cum-sleuth, Jack “Flashgun” Casey). Murdock and his wife, Joyce, would go on to feature in another 22 books—some of which will show up later in Killer Covers’ Stanley tribute series. Appearing as well in several of those yarns is another Coxe protagonist, Beantown private eye Jack Fenner.
