Serenade, by James M. Cain (Bantam, 1968). While the cover artist is not identified, the best guess is it was William A. Edwards, who’s better recognized for creating the artwork for Bantam’s 1970s series of Hermann Hesse paperbacks.

I can't find a history on William A Edwards anywhere. Can somebody help me? I would love to see if he is still around and I could commission a work from him?
Hi, he passed in 2019 at 94. But thank you for sharing this cover, I think it must be his also though I personally don't remember this one (I'm his daughter, but he did over 200 covers).
Sadly he passed away in 2019.
