Lurid But Lovely

The Web site ShortList.com has posted a selection of what it contends are the 35 “Best Crime Novel Covers Ever.” I’ve already featured some of them on this page, or else in The Rap Sheet. But a few, including the front from the 1949 Popular Library edition of Elisabeth Sanxay Holding’s The Death Wish (reviewed here and posted above, with art by Rudolph Belarski), haven’t been spotlighted in my blogs. Click here to see all of ShortList.com’s picks.
