The cover above, from the 1953 Popular Library edition of Mother Finds a Body, seemed an appropriate piece of art to post in celebration of this holiday. The book--published originally in 1942--is credited to American burlesque entertainer Gypsy Rose Lee. However, claims have been made that her author friend, Craig Rice, ghost-wrote both Mother Finds a Body and Lee’s previous (and only other) detective novel, 1941’s The G-String Murders.
You can read the back cover copy from this Mother here.
