
Published originally in 1948, The Three Roads was the last standalone crime thriller Kenneth Millar penned under his own name. In 1949, he introduced his now-famous Southern California private eye, Lew Archer, in The Moving Target, and adopted the pseudonym “John Macdonald,” which later became “Ross Macdonald.”
Sadly, the artist whose work fronts this 1960 Bantam paperback edition of The Three Roads shown above is unidentified.
